With his back against the wall, Batman turns to his closest allies to help him save Gotham City from the clutches of Scarecrow and the Arkham Knight's army. A familiar face also returns to give The Dark Knight a message he cannot ignore.
In the fourth and final installment of the Arkham Series, Bruce Wayne sets out into the night once again to thwart the plans of Scarecrow, Harley Quinn and Two-Face when they're supplied with weapons from the Penguin in their attempt to hunt the Knight and take his head.
There are no words that I can use that would do this game justice. Simply none. Batman Arkham Knight is one of the most beautiful, bodacious, amazing, Triumphant, Outstanding, masterful, breathing taking, Ingenious, Marvelous, engrossing, Uplifting, empowering, and downright awesome experiences of my entire life! This is more than just a video game! It's an experience. If you playing games and like Batman there is absolutely no excuse to not play this. Every gamer should! Just as the back of the case describes this is indeed the ultimate Batman experience. It is also the final game in the Rocksteady Arkham trilogy and like Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy it does out the bang!
The story revolves around Gotham city being seized by nearly all of Batman's rogues gallery. They are being lead by the primary villains of the piece Scarecrow and The Arkham Knight. The Absolute riveting and has me on the edge of my seat during the entire ride! Barbara Gordon is put into serious jeopardy throughout this entire game and her unwavering courage and loyalty to Batman and the mission makes her one of my favorite Batman characters of all time. Scarecrow is my favorite Batman villain and he is perhaps more menacing here than he was in Arkham Asylum. The Arkham Knight is a beast and I just love his obsession with Batman and his determination to get revenge. But perhaps the show stealing of this entire game is once again The Joker. He being brought back as an infection locked away inside of Bruce Wayne's head is simply one of most ingenious decisions for the character that I have ever seen in my life. It was like having the devil in in you and absolute adored every single line that he uttered. It's the thing that elevated the entire story and I ate up every single second of it.
The game-play will instantly familiar to you if you played Arkham City however the next generation graphics takes the Arkham Gameplay mechanics to a whole new level. The open world environment has been expanding allowing the play to explore Gotham City how they choose. I really felt like I was flying through the entire city and it's one of the most beautiful things that I have experiences in my gaming life. The Combat is just as smooth and as satisfying as ever before and Predator is even most rewarding this time around with new enemies and new ways to take them down. One of the biggest features of this game is the ability to use the Batmobile. Now you can race through the city at top speeds chasing after cars as well as engage in intense high stakes tank battles with unmanned drones. It's truly a feat to behold.
In short Batman Arkham Knight gives the playing the freedom and Technology to truly become The Dark Knight. Nearly everything about the formula has been perfected and the conclusion will really give the audience closure. They should wait several years before making a new Batman game because I don't see how anyone will be able to top this one anytime soon! It's freaking sweet!!!!
I have never looked forward to a game more then Arkham Knight. Everything was in place for this game to meet every expectation... And I hate to say, but this game is only slightly above average. The story of this game is just not that interesting. It just feels like an average Btman story at best. The game spoils the main villains identity half way through. The side quests are boring and uninspired. The use of the Batmobile is so overblown and overused. There is barely anything in this game that could be considered a boss fight. The DLC for this game is laughable. Take away the excellent graphics and your left with a game that just feels like a very generic ending. This may be the biggest missed opportunity I've seen in a long time. Story driven games live and die on their ability to tell a compelling narrative and had Rocksteady really taken the time to craft a compelling narrative with the characters then this game would rock. As is, its a painfully, pretty looking, lackluster action game. If it weren't for this being a Batman game I think a lot more people would be more honest about it's quality....
Its not even a year. Arkham Knight takes place 9 months after the events of Arkham City. It is, as far as Rocksteady is concerned. After this, they probably want to move on to other game series and begin new franchises. If any future Arkham games are made, they will most likely be done by Warner Games Montreal, who made Arkham Origins. No. Rocksteady has opted to go with its own writing staff to finish the story. Prior to the game's final mission, Batman realizes he must surrender himself to Scarecrow to save Robin and Jim. However, if you don't do it, then nothing happens. You can continue the game as normal, the story mode just won't end until you surrender. Plus, every now and then Scarecrow will come on the PA to taunt Batman. Villains: The Scarecrow, The Arkham Knight, Two-Face, The Penguin, The Riddler, Harley Quinn. Firefly, Professor Pyg, Deathstroke, Deacon Blackfire, and Man-Bat.
Allies: Gordon, Oracle, Officer Cash, Robin, Nightwing, Catwoman and Azrael
Also Poison Ivy sides with Batman, though it's as a tentative truce. She ends up sacrificing herself and dies saving Gotham from the Scarecrow's toxins
The Joker returns as a voice inside Batman's head as well as a series of hallucinations throughout the game. He "helps" Batman along the way, offering clues and insight Yes. Joker is in the game and in a large way. Though he's not alive, he is inside Batman's mind due to the effects of his blood still being inside Batman after the events in Arkham City. He shows up constantly throught out the game, talking to Batman and commenting on the events going on....
EDIT He don't see the Joker because of Jokers blood, but because of Cranes toxin. He is infected by the toxin in the beginning of the game, when he tries to save Gotham from the toxin Jason Todd. The game claims he became Red Hood after the events of it had ended. He initially took on a different persona and went after Batman, believing that Batman never cared about him and simply replaced him entirely. During the events of the game he was a supervillain with the goal of killing Batman and everyone he loves. Only at the end of it he changes his mind and becomes a vigilante, although, unlike Batman, he is willing to kill.
